SBOE Report: January 2025 The North Carolina State Board of Education conducted its planning meeting on January 8th and its regular meeting on January 9th. End Of Year Update The North Carolina General Assembly met before Thanksgiving, and have completed their budgetary work for the short-session. In summary, their efforts were not traditional, and we would not call this a traditional short-session budget. Budget Recap Teacher pay and other funding issues for districts were not a part of the budget technical corrections bill they passed. December 3 – 5, 2024 The North Carolina State Board of Education met for its Bi-Annual Planning and Work Sessions on Tuesday, December 3rd, and Wednesday, December 4th.
