CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

One scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a selected applicant.

CHILDREN OF AFPENC MEMBERS SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline: February 28

Four scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded to selected applicants.

Deadline: November 15

Grants will be awarded to educators who propose innovative ways to utilize instructional materials that actively engage students or can demonstrate a clear need for basic instruction supplies.

Scholarships & Grants

ROBERT G. PORTER SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Deadline: March 31

Four 4-year $8,000 post-secondary scholarships to students who are dependents of AFT members.

AND

10 one-time $1,000 grants to AFT members.

UNION PLUS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Deadline: January 31

Sponsored by the Union Plus Education Foundation. The program is open to members, spouses and dependent children of unions participating in any of the Union Plus programs. 

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The AFPENC Executive Board invites members in good standing for at least two years and who are pursuing post-graduate studies in an education related field or school leadership to apply for the Continuing Education Scholarship. AFPENC will support your professional endeavors by making the check out directly to your college or university.

One scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to a selected applicant. Members may apply as many times as they wish, but past recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to reapply.

  3. Gather/verify additional documentation needed. 

 CHILDREN OF AFPENC MEMBERS
SCHOLARSHIP

The AFPENC Executive Board invites members in good standing for at least two years, to encourage their child(ren) to apply for college tuition scholarships.  Eligibility is for the student applicants to graduate from a high school or a GED program and be enrolled as a full-time college students by the fall semester of the calendar year in which they earn the scholarship.  Checks will be made out to the college or university.

 

Four scholarships in the amount of $500 will be awarded to selected applicants.  Children of Members may apply as many times as they wish as long as they qualify, but past recipients of this scholarship are not eligible to reapply.

 

Deadline: February 28

  1. Students may complete and submit the application HERE

  2. Two references are required.  References will submit an electronic reference form.  The link is on the application but may be accessed here, also.

  3. Gather/verify additional documentation needed. 

  4. Submit completed application with all required documentation (electronically via email) to the reviewing committee at scholarships.grants@pencweb.org by the established deadline.

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES

HAVE SPECIFIC CLASSROOM NEEDS?
Apply for an AFPENC Mini-Grant 

The AFPENC Executive board invites members in good standing who demonstrate a need for instructional supplies to apply for a PENC mini-grant.  Grants will be awarded to educators who propose innovative ways to utilize instructional materials that actively engage students or can demonstrate a clear need for basic instruction supplies. The proposal must include the amount the teacher is requesting for the specified need. Teachers from all areas of content areas and grade levels are encouraged to apply.  Checks will be made out to the school the applicant is current assigned to and requesting the funds for.
